The Mostar Bridge was a very famous and historical bridge before its destruction during the war in Bosnia and Hercegovina. The bridge was bombarded by a tank on November 9th, 1993 and collapsed into the river below. With the support of UNESCO, a new bridge was built, similar to the old one and opened in 2004. The bridge now symbolises the reunification of the different religious communities in Mostar. These Muslim women are happy to have their picture taken in this location. April 2014.

Le pont de Mostar était un pont historique très célèbre avant sa destruction pendant la guerre en Bosnie-Herzégovine. Le pont a été bombardé par un tank le 9 novembre 1993 et s’est effondré dans la rivière au dessous. Avec le soutien de l’UNESCO, un nouveau pont a été construit, semblable à l’ancien et ouvert en 2004. Le pont symbolise désormais la réunification des différentes communautés religieuses de Mostar.
