The Metz railway station has been registered as a Historic Monument since 1975. During the first annexation of Metz into the German Empire, Kaiser Wilhelm II decided to « germanify » the city. The station was built in a typical Germanic style. I wonder if nowadays travelers know the building’s history. February 2008.
